“Say Aloha to the Hawaiian Summer Brunch with WelcomHotel, Dwarka”

The hotel holds a themed brunch every Sunday and this summer the theme is Hawaiian. Recently a jugalbandi of Michelin Mother Ekta Kapur and Executive Chef Akshay Malhotra rolled out an exhaustive spread.

Delhi: For the well themed Hawaiian Summer Brunch every Sunday, Chef Akshay Malhotra at WelcomHotel Dwarka decided to take things up another level on the 2nd of July. They invited one of their amazing Michelin Mother contestants – Ekta Kapur to prepare a delicious Hawaiian infused spread for the guests. Ekta is a mother, chef and a self-confessed food enthusiast, and cooked behind a live station. Sharing their experiences both Chef Akshay and Michelin Mother Ekta worked on 26 kind of desserts starting right from A to Z to surprise your sweet tooth.

Crowning the unsung hero of our kitchens,s the Potato was transformed into A.L.U. a live counter depicting the “Idaho Potato” grown in our backyard and supplied exclusively to Welcomhotel Dwarka. The Brunch was held at the Pavillion 75, and began at 12:20 pm to go on through the lazy Sunday afternoon till 4 pm. Talking about the event, the General Manager for WelcomHotel, Mr. Rishiraj Singh said “It was amazing to carry forward our collaboration with Ekta after the very successful Michelin Mother contest, and have her get Hawaii to India through her lip smacking dishes for our themed Summer Brunch! As a hotel, we always strive to do something different and quirky for our guests, we look forward to making these Sunday Brunches a tradition”

She is an avid traveller and has travelled to some of the best culinary destinations of the world. To name a few are Seychelles, Switzerland, New Zealand, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Bhutan,Kashmir, Kolkata, Bangalore, Jaipur etc and of course at her birth place Delhi where she grew up. 

She learnt about world cuisines on her culinary travels. She loves to explore the world of food with a discerning eye. She recently took on to cook on Mother’s day at ITC Welcome Hotel, Dwarka and on Father’s day at the Crown Plaza, Gurgaon. On both of these fabulous events her cooking and food plating was well appreciated by the judging panel. She was announced as a winner of Michelin Mother’s Day Contest with her Veg Galauti Kebabs. The Prawn Keralite Prawn curry cooked by her was applauded by Sourish Bhattacharya, the famous food writer and blogger.

She is a budding writer who wants to make a positive difference and spread smiles in the world.

  1. having a themed menu is always preferable as usually it happens in clubs where members get different themed festivals & they get to try different cuisines some are really good
